Now, first, thank you for your infinite patience with me (Redkam) and the comic. Greg has absolutely nothing to do with the delay on any kind of update and the glacial pace. The short explanation is that my job can be a life sucking succubus. Its an office job but last year we went through a tremendous growth spur (which is a good thing) but the powers that be decided that this warranted bringing in at least one more person to take up the slack (which is the bad thing) so suddenly we (my husband and I) found ourselves taking on a lot of new responsibilities, one of them being setting up and learning a new database system on the go and by myself because fuck actual training, it costs the company money.
Also there were several smaller crisis that by themselves are no big deal but I made sure they were. Goddammit I don’t deal with stress well. No actually, I do deal with stress well (didn’t shoot myself after all), I just don’t have a very good attitude about it.
So … RIGHT. Holy-bejeesus I didn’t know this thing had as many followers as it does (I’m supposed to get e-mails about this right?. I’ll look into it)
ANYWAYS, to get back into the CD mood, let’s have some asks shall we? I’ll answer the ones that I can, with a sketch of that character. Just keep in mind that I am not the creator of Carpe Diem (although I do consider them my adopted babies) so the answers may not be quite in character. Maybe Greg will help if he’s up for it.
Anonymous asked: I was thinking about publishing work in progress fan fiction in a bloggish kinda way. How far should copyright concern me? And/or do you want to check stuff like this before it gets out in the open ... you never know :P thanks in advance
Well, I think as long as you give Graveyard Greg credit for creating the cd characters, it should be fine. This would be our very first submission, so I’m not quite sure HOW it works (As in does it publish directly or do I have to approve it first) So let’s try it.

Edit: Finished for now! :)

Thank you so much for your patience!
I’m shooting for a twice a week update schedule now that my rl job is winding down (well compared to July/August). It’s not winding down for Adam for a few more weeks yet, so I dunno if I want to obligate him to anything but regardless of what happens, I’ll have a new update on the 26th and possibly the 30th as well if the new scripts are ready by then.
In the meantime, I’ll have some cheesecake goodness and sketches for you guys.

Ken and Rodney having some happy fun times. As someone mentioned in the livestream, Ken can be very grabby. :P
Made entirely on SAI Paint Tool with some help from Photoshop for color correction and some texturing.

Everybody knows you can’t stop a charging rhino.
And apparently Ken likes pinching.
I don’t know! I just drew the thing.
…also I need to remember to actually read file names before posting. Sorry for the spam
I wish I could do this on the comic page itself, maybe Greg will repost it. Regardless, I know that the updates have become erratic since June and I know that this is not an uncommon thing to happen.
Unfortunately, my real life job tends to be erratic too. Some days are worse than others. My work load changes daily. My main job is data entry and payment processing and this puts a lot of stress on my hands. Without getting too wordy about it, lately, some days I can do artwork but most I can’t. I am grateful for my husband’s help, with him taking a huge portion of the workload off my plate. Still, he has his own projects to work on.
Point is, I can’t make the comic my priority right now. I’m not quitting nor I am stopping working on it completely, I’m just going slower. I AM sorry for the extended wait, but it is being worked on.
A more regular schedule should come in September, where our company reaches the end of its seasonal run.

Finished version. This is basically a remake of something I drew 6-7 years ago:

I know Kevin was wearing a shirt in the original. He’s not in this picture. Is this really a problem?
